This is the set of My Funny Valentine recordings that Melinda’s Backups selected to put on a CD as a gift to Melinda Doolittle on Valentine’s Day 2008.

The ordering was determined by a vote which decided the order and which 18 of the 33 entries – plus Melinda herself would make it to the CD.

They are in order (from lowest vote to highest vote) below.

As I noted in my previous article, Melinda Doolittle released My Funny Valentine today. I have now bought and downloaded this track and I must say its fantastic.

Building on the already unique arrangement of this song that Melinda performed on American idol, this new version adds a second section of up-tempo beat to make a completely different version from anything anyone has ever done in the past with this song.

Melinda has gone back to the studio to produce a new version of My Funny Valentine, available on iTunes from the 12th February 2008
